Who can see my profile?
Only people you're eligible to match with inside the app. Your profile is never searchable on Google, never indexed by search engines, and never visible to anyone who isn't signed into Gaydar.
Can Gaydar staff see my messages?
No. Your conversations are encrypted and only accessible to the two people in them. The only exception: if you report a conversation for a safety violation, our moderation team can review that specific thread to investigate.
Do you sell data to advertisers?
No. We make money from Pro subscriptions and a small number of in-app ads. Your orientation, gender identity, and HIV status are never shared with ad networks or data brokers. Ever.
What data do you collect?
Your phone number (for signup verification), your location (for proximity-based matching), the profile info you choose to share, and basic usage analytics. That's it. Read the full list in our privacy policy.
What happens when I delete my account?
Everything is permanently purged from our systems within 30 days. Profile, photos, messages, matches, vault content — all of it. We keep only a minimal record (a ticket ID and a hash of your phone number) for legal compliance so the same number can't be used to impersonate a deleted account.
Who processes your data?
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the app. Each processes only the minimum data required for their function. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
