GaydarTM
About

Built by the community. For the community.

Gaydar exists because every other option was sliding the wrong way: ads crowding the experience, safety treated as an afterthought, and no real confidence that the person on the other end is who they say they are. We thought the community deserved better — and we knew better had to come from inside.

Built for every identity

Men, women, trans men, trans women, non-binary, gender fluid. One grid. Mutual visibility from the ground up.

Trust on day one

Phone-verified signups, verified selfies, encrypted messaging, and unlimited blocking — on every account.

Community-owned

Privately LGBTQ-owned and operated. No IPO and no outside shareholders dictating the product.

Why we built Gaydar

The apps we already had stopped working for us. The experience got louder with ads, harder to trust, and thinner on the things that actually matter — real profiles, real safety, and real confidence that the person on the other end is who they say they are.

So we built a grid that understands the full spectrum of identity, messaging that respects the languages we speak, and a privacy posture that doesn't start with “upgrade to Pro.” Phone verification, verified selfies, encrypted messaging, and safety controls are on every account from day one — not locked behind a paywall.

And because we're privately owned inside the LGBTQ+ community, we don't answer to a board or outside shareholders. Gaydar is built to give the community an advantage, not to take advantage of it.
